When GS&P was hired to design Bay Medical Center in Panama City, Florida, they wanted the design to reflect the proximity to the sea through nautical influences in the architecture. Echoing the suggested sail motifs on the exterior of the building and in the lobby millwork, Gallery Services photographed a blue water sailing trip on a Swan51 to bring the literal feel of the nearby ocean into the space.

The Grandview project in Birmingham, Alabama, is an example of helping a healthcare developer create a space that celebrates the creativity of a region. We began by reaching out to Alabama artists and gathering examples of their work to present to the owners in an effort to zero in on the feeling they were trying to achieve. At the same time, the in-house designer identified some select pieces from around the area.

Proprietary images were then created and printed for the 372 patient rooms, giving the facility its own unique signature. Once pieces were located and created, everything came back to our facility for archival framing and, ultimately, installation. Grandview is a model for how healthcare facilities can create a meaningful, regional artwork program that serves to heal as well as engage the community.

The BBVA Compass Headquarters building in Houston was a project where the client had an extensive collection of artwork in Madrid and wanted to use a variety of Spanish printmakers to represent their roots.

We had the flat prints shipped to us for framing and added some of Joaquin Capa’s work, a Spanish artist we carry, on the two executive floors as well as adding a variety of abstract canvas prints for ‘B’ locations.

When Surgical Care Affiliates consolidated their administrative operations into a sleek, open, contemporary environment, Gallery Services was brought on board to provide a variety of artwork to reflect their mission and geography.

From the commissioned work of Alabama artists to a monumental grouping that blends past and present, the artwork selected includes tastefully presented imagery on canvas that represents who SCA is and aesthetically showcases how they change peoples lives everyday.

Mt. Carmel Rehabilitation Hospital in Westerville, Ohio, was a joint project with HealthSouth. It is a 60-bed facility that incorporates local and regional photography to create a warm, familiar environment that promotes healing while giving patients and visitors a sense of place.
